In 2014, Koehn Family Produce started out as a roadside produce stand. We sold vegetables, watermelon, and cantaloupe grown by a group of farmers from the Old Order Mennonite community in Rich Hill, Missouri. One of those farmers is Wayne Mazelin, owner of Blackberry Hill Farms Jams, Jellies, and Pickled Products. They already had a good reputation locally so we decided to add Blackberry Hill products to the stand. It was no surprise that sales were amazing! 

At the same time, messages for Blackberry Hill (John is the “message phone” for Blackberry Hill business) singing praises and requesting more were getting outrageous! People from all over the country asking the same question. “Where can I get more!”. Most were travelers passing through the area who happened upon it “somewhere”. They took it home, opened the jar and fell in love. Now they want more! All of the positive feedback along with the fact that Blackberry Hill does not sell retail put Koehn Family Produce in the perfect position.
