Maple Grove Farm Market Weekly Update June 18, 2021

Good day everyone! It certaonly is a hot one!

I just recieved a letter from Virginia at Maple Grove on all the goodies! Unfortunately, the strawberries are done. If you weren’t able to get any too bad for you, they were awesome!

For the next couple of weeks you can get black raspberries, southern peaches (YUM!), lots of tomatoes, green beans, and new potatoes along with the usual produce such as cucumbers, zucchini, cabbage, sweet onions and more! The first of the watermelon will be ready THIS WEEKEND! Be sure to get to one of the 3 Mennonite farm markets in the Rich Hill area before they run out!

On July 2nd there will be someone at Maple Grove with a truck load of discount groceries, meats, and cheese. He has done this in the past and it went over very well. I dont know exactly what he will have to offer but I’ve no doubt it would be worth the trip to find out.

That’s all for this time. I will post again as soon as Virginia sends me another letter.

Troyer’s Strawberries

It’s that time of year again!

I spoke with Virginia Troyer this weekend about what’s up with the strawberries this year (2019 season). She said that she is not sure what the yeild will be yet. They are starting to bloom and the old saying is “three weeks from bloom”. So, hopefully by the first week or so of May they will be ready. The last several years Virginia has had the best strawberry U-Pick around. No reason to expect any different this year. If you don’t remember, she was the Mennonite lady at the Nevada Farmers’ Market that literally everyone bought from. She truely is a superb grower.

You can also expect to find a lot of her produce at Maple Grove Mennonite Farm Market!
